After several years at Roland Berger consulting firm, Samuel joined the Pernod Ricard group, where he served as the Head of Business Development for the Sub-Saharan Africa region. Upon returning to France, he joined the ANJAC group, being in charge of their subsidiary, Shadeline Laboratories, to succeed its founder. Managing a team of nearly 40 professionals spanning all operational functions, Samuel gained valuable experience in commercial development and overseeing a production facility. Driven by the desire to embark on his own entrepreneurial journey, Samuel approached Trajan for support in realizing this ambition.

Founded in 1993 by Robert and Monique Romani, Essences & Parfums has, for nearly 30 years, cultivated a recognized expertise in the formulation and production of fine fragrant, primarily destined for the Middle East and Asia. With a modern and automated production facility, the company has built its success on a reputation as a trusted, quality-driven, creative, and agile player.
With an average annual growth of 7% over the last 5 years, Essences & Parfums generated a revenue of over 17 million euros in 2022, with a workforce of approximately thirty employees.
The founding couple of Essences & Parfums, in their sixties, aimed to secure the company’s independence by passing it on to an acquirer capable of preserving its values and qualities. The decisive factors in their choice were the ability to ensure both the capital transfer and managerial continuity, offered by the partnership of Samuel Desprets and Trajan.
The founders will continue to be significant shareholders in the company, while several long-serving managers join the ownership alongside Samuel Desprets.
